ARTS & CULTURE ITINERARY

For more than a century, Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley have been a destination for art, design, music, and culture. Trail-blazing luminaries including Georgia O’Keefe, Ansel Adams, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Charles Eames were inspired by the area. Today, their influence is seen in the numerous museums and art galleries in Palm Springs.

Day One

Itinerary: Relaxation

After travel and check-in, a little rest is probably in order. Fortunately, you won’t have to go far to immerse yourself in the artistic milieu of Palm Springs. The interiors of our property are by renowned American designer Jonathan Adler. Dramatic and whimsical, our resort is filled with original art, each piece curated to celebrate the unexpected.

afternoon

Lobby Lounge. Affectionately known as The Living Room. A great place to enjoy a cocktail in a room that feels like you are sitting in the middle of an art and design show.

Hotel Art Tour. Hotel or Art Gallery? That is for you to decide after a tour of our property. Stunning, provocative, and a little bit sassy, there is something to discover around nearly every corner. Please speak to our Concierge to book in advance.

evening

Counter Reformation. Ideal for a light meal. This ode to Parisian Tabacs (think zinc), will transport you back to a time when daily life was imbued with artistic expression. Enjoy an eclectic selection of wines by the glass and a variety of savory sharing plates.

Day Two

Itinerary: Galleries, Museums & Delectable Dining

In Palm Springs, things to do for art lovers, aficionados of architecture, and those who appreciate the Avant Garde abound, allowing you to take your time and appreciate the artistry.

morning

Begin your day with a dip in one of three swimming pools or join our resident Yogi for a morning stretch. Then, enjoy a delicious breakfast at Norma’s, our open-air terrace restaurant.

Palm Springs Art Museum. Come early to beat the crowd. A must-visit, the museum was founded in 1938 and has become one of the most influential in the country. Focusing on the visual and performing arts, the museum boasts an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, art of the west in the Americas, and a Library boasting nearly 14,000 books, artist files, auction house catalogs, and other resources.

Palm Springs Architecture and Design Center. Adjacent to the Art Museum, here you will discover the work and influence of design greats such as Albert Fey, Charles Eames, and Frank Lloyd Wright. (

Note:

Both the Museum & Design Center are closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays.)

afternoon

Agua Caliente Cultural Center. One of the most impressive and inspiring museums anywhere. Here you will discover the history and culture of the Agua Caliente Tribe, a people who have made their home in and around Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley for over 5000 years. Treasured artifacts and modern artist displays highlight the indelible influences of Indigenous Americans on the world of art, craft, and culture.

evening

Mini Bar. The perfect spot for a post-adventure refreshment. The room feels like a jewel box and is, like our cocktail creations, a work of art.

mister parker’s. Dark, lush, and discreet, mister parker’s is our award-winning fine dining destination and one of the many reasons we are a favorite of Condé Nast Readers.

Day Three

Itinerary: Architecture, Boutiques, and Artist Workshops

morning

After your evening at mister parker’s, a light breakfast and a strong cup of coffee might be in order. If you still need to get the cobwebs out, visit the Boiler Room, our fully equipped gym, or find your inner Nadal on our Terre Battue tennis courts.
