Condé Nast Traveler
“Next to excellence is the appreciation of it.”
— William Makepeace Thackery
Another year, another accolade. Readers of Condé Nast Traveler have once again named Parker Palm Springs as one of their favorite places to unwind. For nearly two decades, our private estate has been quietly known as the best luxury resort in Palm Springs, if not all of Southern California. Those who know, know.
Parker Palm Springs is dedicated to the art of relaxation, and it starts with the right surroundings. The unique yet discreet architecture, soaring palms, and hundreds of citrus trees are all signs that days here are meant to be savored. With only 144 rooms on our lush thirteen-acre property, it is easy to feel you have arrived at your own private oasis. The other big first impression is the stunning Jonathan Adler interior design. Inspired by the property itself, it is relaxed and playful, with a touch of decadence. Without taking itself too seriously, it is an ode to the finer things in life and sets the mood for everything we do.
The foundation of a great stay is a great room, villa, or suite. Our poolside rooms come with private terraces, providing a seamless indoor/outdoor experience for your time in the desert. If discretion is preferred, we offer twelve stand-alone one-bedroom villas, each with its own patio. For the ultimate Palm Springs stay, the Gene Autry Residence, named in honor of the legendary film star who once owned the property, is highly recommended. The large open plan living design includes two-bedrooms, two-baths, gourmet kitchen, treatment room and sauna, screening room, and a large terrace with private access to the Gene Autry swimming pool.
Speaking of swimming pools, Parker Palms Springs has three, each with its own soundtrack to create just the right mood. Attention to detail is a mantra at Parker Palm Springs and our pools are a perfect example. The water is a heavenly touch temperature 98.6 degrees, ideal for cooling off on a dry, hot desert day. The lounge chairs are regularly called “the world’s most comfortable” by our guests and are very hard to leave. Relaxing poolside, nibbling on a complimentary fresh fruit kabob or with a cocktail in hand, it is easy to let your mind wander and maybe even dream a little.
Amenities at Parker Palm Springs are also memorable. From Terra Battu tennis courts, a croquet lawn, giant chess, complimentary bicycles, and pétanque courts (where a glass of Pastis is considered mandatory to play), there are more choices than time in the day. That said, be sure to make time for pampering at our on-property Palm Springs Yacht Club (PSYC). Deservedly its own destination, it is a free-standing emporium of self-indulgence offering fifteen private treatment rooms for facials, wraps, reflexology, and massage.
No great escape would be complete without exceptional food and drink. Our exclusive, award-winning dining can be enjoyed in many ways. Choose from Norma’s, our open-air terrace restaurant, Counter Reformation, offering Parisian-inspired small plates, Lemonade Stand, a poolside venue for light fare, or Mini Bar, a mixologist’s dream. Also, coming soon will be the reopening of the renown Mister Parker’s, our decadent ode to bon vivants.
This is Parker Palm Springs’s fourth Condé Nast Readers Choice Award in the last six years. And we are honored by this continued recognition.
